This memorial relates to a "Q" site: a decoy airfield. I haven't been able to find any information on the men listed, or why the cross was placed. It took a while to find--it's along a footpath which isn't marked very clearly, and the footpath itself seems to have disappeared. If it's raining, take your wellies!

The church is locked, but there is keyholder information on the notice board. DO NOT, however, go to Mrs Isaacs, across the lane from the church. She is shown as a keyholder, but she was not at all happy that someone had knocked on her door. At the moment, the people in the cottage behind the church, 1 Main Road. The elderly couple there were very friendly and helpful.

This memorial remembers the 455th AAA (Anti Aircraft Artillery), based at Watton. It was brought to my attention by the daughter of one of the men who served in that unit. He is buried in the Netherlands. Find more information here: http://www.455thaaa.ukgo.com/
